What it is

Colored quartz, locked into epoxy, twice

A color quartz floor is a multi-layer epoxy system. We grind the concrete, lay down a base coat, and broadcast colored quartz sand into it while it is wet. Then we do it again. A second coat and a second broadcast fill in the surface and make it dense. A clear topcoat locks everything in.

The result is a floor that looks like fine, speckled stone, feels solid underfoot, and has real grip even when it is wet. There are no seams, no grout lines, and nothing for water or grime to get into.

That is why quartz is the system we recommend for mudrooms, laundry rooms, kitchens, and commercial floors. A chip floor is the garage favorite. Quartz is what you want where the floor gets wet and gets cleaned a lot.

  • Double broadcastTwo coats, two broadcasts of quartz, one clear topcoat.
  • Grip when wetQuartz texture holds traction with water, snowmelt, or soap on the floor.
  • SeamlessNo grout lines, no seams. Water stays on top where you can mop it.
  • Takes the cleaningStands up to mopping, degreasers, and daily scrubbing.
  • Your colorsStocked quartz blends, with samples at the walkthrough.

Clear Topcoat

Seals the quartz in and sets the final texture, from easy-mop to high grip.

Second Quartz Broadcast

A second coat and broadcast fill the surface so it is dense, even, and seamless.

Base Coat + First Broadcast

Colored quartz broadcast into the wet epoxy base for color and grip.

Primer Coat

Bonds the system to the slab and helps block moisture coming up from below.

Ground Concrete

Diamond ground to open up the surface, with cracks repaired before anything goes down.

The system

Two broadcasts is the difference

A single-broadcast floor leaves low spots and thin coverage that wear through first. Broadcasting quartz twice builds a thicker, denser surface that takes carts, boots, water, and years of mopping without showing it. It starts the same way every Cherokee floor does, with ground concrete.

Where it works

The rooms that get wet and get cleaned

Quartz fits anywhere you need grip, a seamless surface, and a floor that shrugs off daily scrubbing.

01

Mudrooms and laundry

Boots, wet gear, and dripping skis all winter. Water sits on top and mops right up.

02

Kitchens

Home and commercial. Grease, spills, and hot pans do not bother it, and there are no grout lines to scrub.

03

Restrooms and locker rooms

Seamless and slip resistant where floors are wet most of the day.

04

Showrooms and retail

A finished, stone-look floor that takes foot traffic and still looks sharp.

05

Vet, medical, and food prep

Easy to sanitize, nowhere for grime to hide, and it stands up to cleaning chemicals.

06

Basements and gear rooms

A clean, durable floor over a bare slab for gyms, storage, and bonus rooms.

Mountain tough

Made for wet Colorado floors

Between snowmelt and mud season, the floors inside a Valley home or business see water for most of the year.

Snowmelt and mud season

Everything that comes in on boots ends up on the mudroom floor. Quartz keeps it on top, gives you grip while it is wet, and mops clean.

Slip resistance

Smooth epoxy and sealed concrete get slick with water on them. The quartz texture is what keeps traction in wet rooms and busy commercial spaces.

Cleaning, every day

Commercial kitchens and restrooms get scrubbed daily with strong cleaners. A sealed quartz floor takes it without staining or breaking down.

Built on ground concrete

Prep decides how long any coating lasts. We grind every slab so the primer bites in, then build the system up one layer at a time.

Questions

Quartz floor questions

Don’t see your question? Call 970-625-3800 and talk to the crew directly.

How much does a color quartz floor cost?

We price every floor after a free walkthrough. Quartz is a double-broadcast system, so it uses more material than a chip floor and usually prices a bit higher per square foot. The main factors are square footage, slab condition, how much grinding and crack repair it needs, whether an old coating has to come off, and the blend you choose. You get an itemized quote before anything is scheduled.

What is the difference between a quartz floor and a chip floor?

Both are built the same way underneath: ground concrete, primer, and an epoxy base. The difference is what gets broadcast into it. A chip floor uses vinyl paint chips for a flecked, textured look. A quartz floor uses colored quartz sand, broadcast twice, for a tighter, denser surface with more grip. Chip floors are the garage favorite. Quartz is what we recommend for wet rooms and commercial floors.

Will a quartz floor be slippery when wet?

Quartz is the system we reach for when slip resistance matters. The quartz grains give the floor texture that holds up even with water on it. We can adjust how much texture is left in the surface, from a fine, easy-to-mop finish to a more aggressive grip for commercial kitchens and wet areas. We talk that through at the walkthrough.

Is it hard to keep clean?

No. The surface is seamless, so there are no grout lines or seams for dirt and water to get into. Sweep, mop, or squeegee. For commercial floors it stands up to regular degreasers and cleaning chemicals.

Can you install quartz over my existing floor?

Over sound concrete, yes. If there is an old coating that is peeling or poorly bonded, it has to come off first or the new floor fails with it. We check the bond at the walkthrough and include any removal in the quote.

How long until I can use the room?

Foot traffic comes back well before heavy use does. Cure times depend on the products and the temperature in the space, so we give you exact times before we leave.

Do you do commercial quartz floors?

Yes. We are fully insured for commercial work. Quartz is a good fit for commercial kitchens, restrooms, locker rooms, veterinary and medical spaces, showrooms, and anywhere a floor needs grip and takes a lot of cleaning.
